I40 - Newbury Race Course (August 27th 2010)

Postby Dash » Sun Feb 14, 2010 1:41 pm

Hi everyone.

Total Oblivion's most popular summer LAN the August I-Series is provisionally scheduled for 27th August for the usual 4 day weekend (5 days if you count the Thursday early arrival deal).

I've spoken to others in TO who are keen to try and take advantage of Newbury's unique private clan boxes.

The clan boxes offer space for between 11 and 44 gamers, but we'll need to get an idea of how many people we are going to get very soon so that we can make an application to secure our clan a private box. Image how cool that would be eh?

Please copy and paste the list below and add your name if you want to have your name added to the clan box.

I40 falls on the bank holiday weekend so those from the UK can save a day's holiday too. Bonus! :)

(If we need more people I have 4 more locals, not in TO, who would probably want to attend also).

Shall we apply for a clan box then? discuss it on TS when you are next on with whoever else is going and we'll try and work out how we apply for it and what to say in the email.

I am really liking the sound of clan box, from what I can get from the multiplay forums we need 22 people for a box. Although I cant find any specific info on the website, only people muffing on the forums. Oh well, hopefully it will be clearer after i39.

Oh, and please, please, please, let me sit next to mack!!! :D

Right guys, I'm looking at book this early so I can save some money :D

Any more info on clan boxes? I can't see anything to do with them during booking (which I expected) and I'm really up for getting one of these to keep us away from the hardcore 12yo who wet themselves everytime someone kills them on CS. I will have another look around the website, but couldn't find anything.

And on a slightly more critical note, which area should we choose to be put in? List is as follows:
Call of Duty Series
Console Area (Xbox, PS3, etc.)
Counter-Strike: Source
DM FPs (Quake/UT etc.)
MMOs (WoW, EVE etc.)
Other Games
Real Time Strategy
Squad FPS (BF/ETQW etc)
Team Fortress 2
Turn Up and Play

Now I know we're a multi-gaming community and we don't fit in a group as such, so we have to just pick the best we can. Personally, I think Squad FPS would be best, lots of us playing BC2 at the moment. And as always, your area has no influence on what games you can play or anything, so it doesn’t limit anyone.

Who else is thinking of booking early out of curiosity?

For the time being "Other Games" is best.
It's always been good for us, and we won't be bothered by all the clan match shouting from the FPS/Squads bunch and the screaming from the CSS kiddies.

Game area doesnt matter now as its all sorted by a seating planner where you can pick your own seat.

For a box we need to have the required number of people and then submit a request to one of the multiplay guys.

Need to know where to seat my ass too! Nojjy if someone more i-Series experienced hasn't suggested a place by tonight then we'll talk on TS and pick somewhere and put up a diagram. There isn't much choice left already, a lot of the floors are "Unavailable".

What are we doing about seating? are we going to nominate someone to manage the seating or is there enough of us to get a Clan box or something?

We are going to apply for a clan box but we can't do it till everyone's paid. Get your money out people! ;)

We will need to fill up the rest of the clan box with people from another clan so make sure you sign up early so you dont find yourself sitting on your own somewhere else! :o
