Stratlan - Potential

Hey all.

I've been having a bit of a look into the Stratlan's as an alternative to the I-series, just because of the price, amount of kids, amount of crime worries etc that are occuring.

This years list of LAN's was as follows.

StratLAN "Winter Warmer Social" - 15th to 18th February 2013

StratLAN "Summer Party" - 4th to 8th July 2013

StratLAN "Autumn Social" - 19th to 22nd September 2013

StratLAN "Christmas Party" - 5th to 9th December 2013

Seeing as none of us ended up joining in any of the events going on I was just thinking this could be a potential for next year.

They are 150 places at Statford Racecourse for 4 days, BYOB, they do a BBQ 2 nights of 4 and it looks a bit more like Newbury.

Oh and the price is £52 inc Thursday. I'm just wondering if it has potential.

Tournaments I meant.

The board games are apparently even stronger at Stratlan and the reason they've popped up at I-series. The pub quiz would be the one major loss as I see it.

Personally I thought the new games expo was a bit disappointing.

Much as I love i series and I do love it, I agree with Lance at least in that we don't enter any tourneys these days.

With a mere 150 places we would have to get in very early and we would likely be expected to be a bit more social with other players since this lan is 1/20 the size of iSeries.

A concern of mine would be what games are played. It's called Strat lan and I'm not known for playing that many strategy games.
